Captain Listrup is a Master Mariner with over 30 years of seagoing experience, including 10 years in command. Peter has considerable and extensive experience in the operations and management of marine simulators. Prior to his role as Director of Smartship Australia Peter was the Vice President of the Star Cruises Ship Simulator in Malaysia.
Mike has over 25 years in the marine industry, commencing as a dual (deck and marine engineering) cadet and working his way up to Master Mariner and Chief Engineer on board large passenger ships. He then moved ashore to assume the position of Designated Person Ashore and oversaw Safety, Environment, and Maritime Compliance departments. Prior to his role as Senior Instructor with Smartship, Mike was a senior transport safety investigator and acting manager with the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
Captain Ferretti de Luca is a master mariner with 30 years’ experience in the maritime industry, having served in the Italian Navy and sailed on Princess, Carnival UK and P&O Australia cruise ships, as well as having worked ashore for Carnival Australia as Safety Manager and for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority as Principal Surveyor, Examiner of Masters and Mates and Manager Torres Strait, Coastal Pilotage and VTS Authority. Giuseppe has an extensive experience in navigation, maritime operations, vessels survey and certification, defence, safety and government management. Giuseppe joined Smartship in August 2021.
Justin is responsible for the technical and systems support activities at Smartship Australia. Justin has a bachelors degree in Information Technology specialising in data communications and more recently has been working in the industrial IT environment which has many crossovers into marine systems. Justin has also operated his marine electronics business, specialising in marine networking and communication systems for recreational and commercial vessels.
Cameron McKenzie has a Bachelor of Games Design from Griffith University and a Diploma of Information Technology Networking. Cameron is responsible for the in-house production of highly realistic 3D port models, in addition to providing specialised technical support and assistance with training exercises. Prior to joining Smartship Cameron held a range of positions in hospitality and retail, and spent some time working overseas.
